The tsoundcheck programme is one of the world’s most successful audience development initiatives in performing arts. For the 2010.2011 season, concertgoers between 15 and 35 will have the opportunity to purchase TSO tickets for just $14 – and membership is free! With as many as 20,000 tickets sold annually, the tsoundcheck programme makes the TSO audience one of the youngest and most diverse in classical music. On average, 15% of the TSO’s masterworks concerts are filled with tsoundcheck members adding energy and excitement to the concert experience for everyone
The tsoundcheck programme was created in 2001 to encourage young people to experience orchestral music with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Members can also sign up to receive the tsoundcheck email newsletters which announce concerts that have been put on sale, upcoming special events, and special offers from other organizations.

tsoundcheck has an active and passionate membership of over 25,000. As well, over 100 tsoundcheck volunteers assist with concerts, outreach activities, and special tsoundcheck events held each season. Many are graduate students or young professionals just starting their careers. Not only is the programme an affordable way to attend the TSO, but tsoundcheck has also become a place for young music lovers to interact and socialize with each other, building a community of young symphony-goers. Twice a year, the TSO throws tsoundcheck parties to thank these loyal patrons. Held in the lobby of Roy Thomson Hall following concerts, Toronto-area bands play while the audience mixes and mingles with the TSO musicians and other patrons.
Beginning September 1, 2010, tsoundcheck tickets will be $14 including HST. tsoundcheckers can also purchase 3 concert ticket packs for either $63, $78, or $93. tsoundcheck 3-packs offer those in the 15 to 35 age-range the flexibility of purchasing tickets in advance and members receive many subscriber benefits, including ticket exchanges and discounts at local restaurants.
